The hyperbole around artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and achievements in those areas is growing at a faster pace than ever before. It seems that PR people can get increased traction to drive conversations in what they are doing by bandying around the words ‘artificial intelligence’ and ‘robotics’ with abandon.

Boston Dynamics Shows Latest Advancements in Robotics (CEBIT 2018)

Marc Rybert, founder of Boston Dynamics shows the latest developments at CEBIT 2018. I live these robots but it seems that there are very few use cases. It’s also interesting that Google dropped them and sold the company to SoftBank. Why, drop an amazing product? Maybe, the levels of investment before uptake is far too much. SoftBak certainly has the funds to take this somewhere and align with other parts of their robotics businesses. Btw – Spot the robot was human-controlled in this demo.
