Welcome to the prison of the future. It’s more cost-effective and empowering for guards and prisoners alike. No jail cells, but pods with 9 cameras that reside in open plan dormitories with touchscreen TVs that allow for prison shopping, banking and education. There are also communal areas for prisoners to mix and mingle.
Each pod has eight bathroom cubicles which contain a toilet, sink and shower. Only one inmate is allowed in the cubicle at any time, allowing for greater privacy and security.

Two telephones are available to be used for 10-minute paid calls from 6am to 9pm. There is also a kitchen with two microwave ovens, two fridges, one commercial toaster, on-demand hot water and toasted sandwich press. All of these are bolted down.

Courses held inside offer the ability to have work skills development in metal working, cooking, art, refereeing sports, and more. The prison is aiming to improve the lives of both the guards, inmates, and visitors.
Cameras are monitored by guards that watch every move. The Immediate Action Team (IAT) are armed and aware of everything that is going on. They are faster to respond, and able to placate any situation that may arise.
