“We are surrounded by organizations willing to disrupt the market and more importantly themselves. They do this by constantly innovating and challenging their own modus operandi on a daily basis with an active view on the futures ahead of us.”

Nikolas Badminton, Chief Futurist

Nikolas Badminton is the futurist keynote speaker that provides your audience with insights into how to anticipate disruption and see how exponential technologies, open innovation, patents and intellectual property development, innovation mindsets, circular economic principles, a non zero sum mindset and strategies based in sustainability deliver incredible value.

In this futurist keynote he will teach you 3 essential lessons.

Lesson: Understand global megatrends and how to spot market disruption

There are forces in the world that have far-reaching impacts across our struggling industrial complex. These include, economic power shifts with China and India as first and second with the United States in third place, the population boom in Africa and Southeast Asia, movements to megacities that will be over fifty million people in size by 2050 (Lagos, Nigeria will be the largest), the worsening global drought and water scarcity with effects on growing food and energy production.

These are the areas where the most essential solutions need to be developed and the foundations of information, energy and transportation will be disrupted by new and existing players. Disruption must be expected. As Nikolas says, “You either change, or change will happen to you.”

Lesson: See the trends and disruptive exponential technologies that are driving incredible innovation in organizations

Nikolas will guide you through the technologies that are accelerating business and the global innovation economy forward, including – Big data analytics, Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) and machine learning, robotic automation, Internet of Things and the sensor economy, smart cities, genetic editing, sub-orbital Internet, cellular agriculture, biohacking and human augmentation (cyborgs), blockchain and cryptocurrencies, wearable computing, virtual reality, augmented reality, the metaverse, 3D printing and additive manufacturing, drones and unmanned autonomous vehicles (flying cars), cybersecurity, Nanotechnology, quantum computing, Computer telepathy, and more.

Lesson: learn how to create a innovation mindset and a culture of sustainability in your organization

It’s been found that a high proportion of executives (84%) agree that innovation is important to growth strategy however only a small amount of them (6%) are satisfied with innovation performance. The challenges are numerous: Fostering an internal culture of experimentation and innovation; Juggling competing for internal agendas and goals; overcoming the middle management “permafrost” layer; and

moving forward with plans despite the deferred commitment and delayed action. There is much work to be done about establishing Disruptive, Incremental, Sustaining, and Radical Innovation.

New ideas like open innovation and non zero sum mindsets can create a world where we can all win through information sharing and collaboration. Beyond that we can look to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals to provide a “blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all”.

In addition, by adopting Circular Economic and Seventh Generation Principles we can reduce waste and be more mindful in creating global and local economies where we consider the triple bottom line – people, planet, and profit.

Shift your mindset from what is to WHAT IF…

What if you create bolder visions of your futures, strengthen strategic planning capabilities, anticipate unforeseen risks, and understand the value it provides to the market, your customers, and your shareholders? What if you create an anticipatory organizational capability? And, what if you empower all employees to be curious about the futures that lay ahead of us in 10, 20 and 30+ years?
