In today’s always connected culture, niche networks and targeted social apps are enabling businesses to connect close-to-home to:

  • build relationships with clients, suppliers, and business support services,
  • leverage local skills or knowledge and locate the best talent,
  • share tools, space, and resources, and
  • optimize workflow within their teams and with outside contractors.

Networked Business Boot Camp will help businesses connect socially, identifying the online tools, in-person networks, and local support services that can enhance their operations.

AGENDA:

8:30AM – Arrive, Register, Coffee + Breakfast

9AM – KEYNOTE: Nikolas Badminton is a world-respected futurist that researches, speaks, and writes about the future of work, how technology is affecting the workplace, the sharing economy, and how the world is evolving.

9:30AM – BOOT CAMP SESSION: Groups will be curated according to business challenges and work with professional mentors from Vancouver’s top social businesses to learn tools and strategies for enhancing their operations.

10:30AM – KEYNOTE: Chuck Hamilton is an Associate Professor at the Center for Digital Media, an 18-year veteran of IBM and TED Talker focused on Social Business, Learning, Social Media Technologies and Citizen Engagement.

11AM – BOOTCAMP SESSION 2: Groups will be curated according to business challenges and work with professional mentors from Vancouver’s top social businesses to learn tools and strategies for enhancing their operations.

12PM – PANEL: TOOLS TO GET NOTICED. Featuring funders and members of the press, this panel will explore how an online social presence can be used to garner attention and build credibility.

1:15PM – WORKSHOP: Non-equity funding opportunities for start-ups, presented by Futurpreneur

1:45PM – WORKSHOP: The Importance of Market Research, presented by Small Business BC
